Creative Director and Senior Designer

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
Over 18+ Years

Paul is an experienced and creative individual specializing in graphic design, photography and art. Based in Sacramento, Paul is in the business of providing curated experiences to meet the specific needs and interests of his clients. He has a passion for transforming ideas into compelling visual narratives and is focused on problem-solving, creating high-quality, innovative and clever solutions to complex design issues from initial conceptualization to final execution. Design isn’t just a profession for Paul, it is his way of seeing and shaping the world.

Paul is a graduate of Sacramento State, and as a proponent of lifelong learning he continues to look for ways to improve his skill sets to maintain a high standard in everything he does and works relentlessly to get the best possible results. Aside from design, he is also a trained artist and photographer, which allows him to create unique experiences with his work and give birth to new and unique ideas. With over 17 years of real-world design experience, Paul has worked as a Graphic Designer, entrepreneur, and Creative Director internationally and in and out of the Sacramento region. This has allowed him to design for a diverse group of clients, creating a large variety of print and digital content for campaigns, events, and conferences, from corporate identities and marketing campaigns, to responsive websites and more. With expertise in branding, UI/UX, print and digital design, he helps organizations and businesses communicate clearly and creatively through intentional, user-focused design. Whether developing a brand identity or refining a Paul brings a thoughtful, strategic approach to every project.

While working at Sacramento State, Paul was the primary producer, reviewer, and creative on all graphic design content within the Division of Student Affairs and for all intra-Division and inter-Division graphic design content and projects. This work is enormously varied, in print, web, social media, and internal messaging, as it serves the entire scope of work of the Division and its partners with the main focus of, “Where Students Come First”.

Working at the university has allowed him to discover his passion for teaching and mentoring while leading a group of student interns while also covering a breadth of services with affinity centers, such as the PRIDE Center, Services for Students with Disabilities, and Guardian Scholars (foster youth advocacy), and academic programs including, Associate Degree for Transfer (ADTs), an educational pathway that bridges the gap between 2-year and 4-year colleges.

In his spare time, Paul can often be found exploring the nuances of color theory, sketching new concepts, or obsessing over typographic details. He also enjoys a myriad of activities such as: spending time with his family and two rambunctious cats, working out at the gym, binge-watching shows on various streaming services, gardening, trying out new restaurants and traveling the world with his spouse.
