We had the privilege of partnering with the PRIDE Center at Sacramento State to develop a promotional campaign for their annual Lavender Graduation ceremony. This unique and heartfelt event honors the academic achievements of LGBTQIA+ students in a space that is inclusive, empowering, and celebratory. Unlike traditional commencement ceremonies, Lavender Graduation offers a more intimate environment that acknowledges the resilience, identity, and community of students who may not always see themselves fully reflected in larger institutional traditions.
Our team approached the project with the intention of visually representing the joy, pride, and individuality that this event embodies. Working closely with the PRIDE Center, we developed a fun, colorful, and meaningful design that reflects both the diversity and unity of the LGBTQIA+ community at Sacramento State.
The project began with the creation of a printed flyer that served as the cornerstone of the campaign. From there, we translated the design into a range of digital assets tailored for various platforms. This included graphics for the Stinger Screens located throughout campus, which helped raise awareness and generate excitement among the broader student body. We also designed custom visuals optimized for use on social media, allowing the PRIDE Center to reach students, faculty, and supporters across digital channels.
Throughout the process, we remained mindful of the importance of representation and inclusivity in every design decision, from color palette and typography to imagery and layout. Our goal was not just to promote the event, but to help foster a sense of belonging and visibility for LGBTQIA+ students during an important milestone in their academic journey.
The final campaign was a celebration in itself; bright, expressive, and full of pride. We are honored to have contributed to a project that uplifts and affirms such an important part of the campus community.
